Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is caused by the spirochete bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi, and is spread by infected ticks, mosquitoes, fleas, spiders, and other insects.

Lyme disease can be hard to diagnose. It manifests in many different ways and has been called the great imitator. People can experience a complex range of symptoms such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, fatigue, brain fog, cardiac arrhythmias, shortness of breath, hormone imbalances, kidney dysfunction, joint pain, etc. Lyme disease can be difficult to treat unless treatment is started promptly.

More information about Lyme disease can be accessed at Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt's website.

Neuro / biofeedback training for Lyme disease

Lyme disease can create an overactive nervous system which chronically activates the fight or flight stress response. Neurofeedback can help calm brainwaves associated with agitation, obsessive thoughts and fear associated with this stress response. Biofeedback can also help regulate the nervous system by normalizing heart rate, blood pressure, blood flow, breathing, skin sweat and body temperature. It is well known that a reduction of the stress response can have beneficial effects on the immune system's ability to fight infections.
